ABOUT THE ROLE

The Benefits Associate supports the delivery of Sound Physicians’ benefit programs by owning the day-to-day execution of benefit transactions, responding to colleague inquiries, and maintaining benefits documentation and resources. This role plays a key part in delivering a supportive and accurate benefits experience, ensuring employees are well-informed and able to access the support they need.

The Benefits Associate serves as the first point of contact for Tier I benefits support and partners closely with the Benefits Analyst and Manager on projects, compliance tasks, and process improvements.

THE DETAILS:  This is a full-time, remote, work-from-home opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond to routine benefit inquiries from employees and provide guidance on benefit plans, eligibility, and enrollment timelines.

• Process benefit transactions in UKG, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and terminations.

• Monitor and manage benefits-related tickets in FreshService, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when appropriate.

• Maintain and update the Benefits Hub on the intranet with accurate and accessible information.

• Support open enrollment processes, including preparing communications, organizing logistics, and responding to employee questions.

• Assist in auditing benefits data for accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.

• Collaborate with vendors to resolve standard issues (e.g., enrollment errors, missing ID cards).

• Track and document recurring issues or process gaps to support continuous improvement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Solid understanding of common health and welfare benefit offerings.

• Experience using HRIS systems (UKG preferred) and/or case management tools (e.g., FreshService).

• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong service mindset with a calm, professional approach to employee interactions.

• Ability to work independently while escalating appropriately.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR support role.

• Prior experience using an HRIS platform to process transactions and generate reports.

• Familiarity with benefits compliance basics (e.g., eligibility rules, life events, COBRA).

• Experience supporting employee inquiries via a helpdesk or ticketing system is preferred

Pay Range: $28.00 - $30.00 hourly.  Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographical location.
