Title: AV Infrastructure Engineer L8 (Hybrid)

Location: San Francisco, California
Job Type: Contract
Compensation Range: $66 - 74 per hour

Job Description:

Our team builds, operates and maintains global video production and large-scale audiovisual infrastructure in our event spaces, collaboration hubs and large specialty conference rooms at offices around the world. We are seeking an outstanding Audiovisual Engineer to build, test, improve, and support our global AV infrastructure while designing and deploying the next generation of hybrid collaboration spaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, build, and maintenance of AV systems for various large spaces, working with external consultants and integrators.
  • Conduct R&D on new technologies, including AI, to develop and test innovative designs and proofs of concept.
  • Collaborate closely with the project management team during the design and build phases.
  • Own all project documentation, including runbooks and process documents.
  • Provide rapid Tier 3 support by troubleshooting and fixing global system issues.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and manufacturers to coordinate installations, repairs, and sourcing of new equipment.
  • Work with IT security and network teams to assess risks associated with new infrastructure designs.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional partners within the larger organization. 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the design, integration, and implementation of AV systems is required.
  • Proven hands-on experience setting up, programming, and commissioning Q-SYS systems with camera tracking in conference and multipurpose spaces.
  • Strong expertise in troubleshooting, supporting, and maintaining DSP- and Dante-based audio systems in live and enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated background with AV system design, build, and commissioning, with experience balancing support responsibilities and contributing to R&D initiatives.
  • VC Platform Proficiency: Expertise in using Zoom Rooms as a video conferencing platform, including commissioning, administration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Complex Troubleshooting: The ability to expertly troubleshoot complex systems that involve audio, video, network, and control components.
  • Schematic Comprehension: A thorough understanding of AV schematics and the ability to create them.
  • IP Networking: A working knowledge of IP networking principles, including design, troubleshooting, and basic switch configuration with VLANs.
  • Risk Management: The ability to assess, identify, manage, and mitigate risk factors across complex systems.
  • Design & Reliability: Proven experience as a design project owner, with a strong emphasis on designing for reliability and supportability.
  • Project Coordination: Experience in project management, including the ability to plan, coordinate with others, and drive progress forward.
  • Documentation & R&D: The capacity to research, clarify, and document complex R&D projects. Experience with creating technical and end-user documentation, such as as-builts, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Avixa (Infocomm) or NAB/SMPTE certifications (e.g. Avixa CTS-D).
  • Qsys programming certification.
  • Crestron programming certification.
  • Dante certification.
  • Experience with drafting/CAD.
  • Experience with IP video (NDI, QLAN, ST2110 etc...)
  • Experience working in a corporate IT department.
  • Experience working for an AV integrator.
  • Jira or similar technical project tracking experience.
  • Experience with broadcast AV systems (video cameras, video switchers, digital audio.
  • Mixing consoles, and SDI/IP backbone infrastructures).
