Who You'll Work With
You will be working on the underwriting team, which is part of the Commercial Mortgage Group.
About The Role
You will report to the Head of Underwriting with responsibility to size loans, present to credit committee, close loans, and monitors performance of loans that are high touch. The team works on all types of property types and originates loans that are performing, transitional, bridge and construction.
Responsibilities
- Knowledgeable in multiple types of transactions and structures used for: whole loans and syndicated loans and CMBS, with deals sizes that vary significantly from $25 million to $500 million.
- Portfolio management of all transaction types that include stabilized loans as well as construction and transitional loans.
- Possess knowledge of macro-economic trends and real estate investment fundamentals.
- Analyze and review third party reports including: appraisals, engineering reports as well as understand environmental assessments, zoning letters, credit reports, background checks, credit references, legal documents.
- Conduct market research on lending market trends and real estate market movements.
- Prepare and present credit memos for committee approval.
- Evaluate deals, develop underwriting assumptions, and review property-level documents.
- Communicate with brokers, agents and principals to complete strategic research projects and analysis to validate underwriting assumptions.
- Perform site inspections and summarize findings in writing.
- Research comparable properties to determine competitive amenities, rents and sales prices using CoStar, Reis, RCA and Bloomberg.
- Perform advanced valuation and cash flow analysis using Argus.
- Interact closely with the underwriting team, originators, closers and legal.
- The position requires the ability to perform market research, financial statement analysis, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Skills and Qualifications
- BA/BS required
- Advanced degree in real estate is preferred
- Robust analytical skills are necessary
- Must have a minimum 2-3 years of related commercial real estate experience, highly preferred 3-5 years
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and quantitative skills.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $128, 000 to $132, 000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

This position is based in Corebridge Financial's New York City office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
