Manager, Financial Reporting reports to Director, Financial Reporting and is responsible for accounting functions related to preparation of financial statements and supporting audit of financial statements for SS&C clients - U.S. and Canadian based unregistered investment companies (hedge funds and private equity funds).

What You Will Get To Do:
-
Facilitates the entire process of preparing U.S. GAAP, IFRS and ASPE quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial statements for multiple clients:

Standardizes the reporting process while also working to improve and streamline it;

Collaborates with the Fund Accounting department and supervises junior Financial Reporting staff in order to assure effective financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures;

Drafts financial statements note disclosures based on legal documents and updates presentation of core financial statements and financial statements note disclosures to reflect requirements of newly adopted accounting pronouncements;

Communicates with the clients and the auditors on on-going basis to assure effective planning and issue resolution;

Provides on-the-job training and oversees performance of junior Financial Reporting staff.
What You Will Bring:

Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Accounting;

Chartered Professional Accountant (Canada) or Certified Public Accountant (U.S.) designation;

5+ years of experience working in a public accounting setting auditing financial statements for investment companies or 5+ years of experience working in a similar role in a fund administration setting overseeing preparation of financial statements for investment companies;

US GAAP expertise, in particular with respect to ASC 946 Financial Services – Investment Companies;

Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills;

Proven ability to lead an engagement by utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills and previous experience of being an “in-charge”;

Proven ability to work under intensive deadlines and handle competing priorities.
