Job Summary:

The Disney Music Group (DMG) is the music hub for TWDC, encompassing all aspects of music commercialization and marketing: recorded music (Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records), Disney Music Publishing, and Disney Concerts. DMG distributes music both physically and digitally, and also licenses music throughout the world in various forms of media including television, print, gaming, and consumer products.

The Associate Graphic Designer’s primary responsibility will be to work in support of design projects for DMG artists and Soundtracks, including Studios, Marvel, Lucas, Networks, Parks, Concerts, Catalog and other Disney brands. In partnership with the Production & Asset Management teams and internal Marketing, Sales and International teams, the Associate Graphic Designer position will support a seamless workflow, review process and final delivery that ensures meeting schedule goals.

Responsibilities:

  • This position will report directly to the Digital Graphics Manager and assist in creation and production of various design projects such as:
    • Digital covers, playlist covers with a focus on International versions, assisting the Digital Graphics Manager with physical packaging (vinyl, CD and cassettes) as needed in addition to creation of Sales and Marketing materials such as one-sheets, banners, postcards, posters, ads, outdoor campaigns, etc.
  • Provide final deliverable graphic files that are to spec and meet our SOP in file naming and organization to maintain workflow and deadlines, preflight all packaging files before delivery to our vendors and assisting with uploading to our distributor, Universal Music Group, for archiving

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of design or production artist experience
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Strong design and typography skills
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills with the desire to learn and assist others on your team
  • Solid knowledge of steps required in creative development process and the ability to perform those tasks in a timely and productive manner
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive attitude that contributes to the overall success of a collaborative environment
  • Must be available to work onsite 4 day per week (Monday-Thursday). Fridays are remote with flexibility to work onsite as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Advertising or Graphic Design
  • Solid understanding of music product materials or manufacturing processes preferred
  • Knowledge of and affinity for Disney brands preferred

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $58,700 to $78,600 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
