This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agency's remote work program but does require weekly onsite work
The Applications Systems Analyst II position serves as a lead data analyst in the implementation of both portfolio and enterprise-level data integration and business intelligence solutions. This position serves as subject matter expert in the development and implementation of advanced analytics solutions for Justice and Public Safety domain areas/agencies. This position will work with other project team resources, agency stakeholders, and GDAC vendor partners to listen, design, implement, and support advanced analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build data-driven models to answer business questions leveraging a variety of tools/models available within the Enterprise Data Office/Government Data Analytics Center
- Identify priority use cases based on stakeholder needs, availability of data, and advances in tooling, and support the solutioning and prototyping efforts to bring them to life
- Act as lead analyst for the facilitation of requirements, design, development, testing and implementation of portfolio-level and enterprise-level data integration, data/analytics, data visualization solutions and products for Justice and Public Safety domain areas/agencies.
- Serve as a business and technical expert resource for the implementation, and support of justice and public safety solutions and services
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures aligned to standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices for responsible justice and public safety solutions and services
About the Division:
The Government Data Analytics Center (GDAC), is an enterprise application and analytic development unit under Enterprise Data Office (EDO) within the Department of Information Technology Services (DIT). This unit is responsible for assisting in the delivery of enterprise data and analytics solutions to improve statewide services and outcomes. The GDAC is also accountable for enterprise data management practices including data governance and best practices for data analytics and business intelligence efforts.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:
- 
	Experience working with case management systems such as SAS Visual investigator, Salesforce, etc. 
- 
	Demonstrated understanding of analytical methods including regression, generalized linear models (GLM), decision trees, boosting, text mining, clustering, and neural networks (e.g., CNN, RNN). 
- 
	Experience working with industry standard ETL platform / tools such as SAS, Data Bricks, Snowflake etc. and data visualization tools such as SAS Visual Analytics, Tableau and Power BI etc. 
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development;
OR
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development;
OR
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
