Our flexible, hybrid work model offers the option to work remotely or in the office.

How you’ll contribute: 
As an Actuarial Associate, you’ll be responsible for assisting in the generation, validation, and delivery of both deterministic and stochastic scenario inputs that support our actuarial and finance partners. You’ll be part of the Liability Analytics & Services team and help maintain accuracy, timeliness, and strong controls around all production processes, and contribute analytical insights that support hedging related reporting, attribution, and strategy.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Support the hedging and actuarial functions related to our variable annuities and flagship registered-indexed-linked-annuity product, Shield.
  • Help produce the creation of inputs and outputs to our production process using Python and SQL programming.
  • Build and document additional control and analytics processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of our deliverables.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, hedging, and cross-functional partners to align on assumptions, resolve data or methodology questions, and ensure scenario deliverables meet stakeholder needs.
  • Work closely with IT partners and vendors to coordinate codebase releases and improve the development workspace.
  • Analyze drivers of results and communicate to management.
  • Create and improve analytical tools and processes to enhance efficiency.

 

We’re looking for people who have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, physics, or computer science with a strong academic record.
  • Committed to completing the Society of Actuaries education system courses necessary to attain ASA designation.
  • Completed Exam P and in the process of completing addittional Actuarial exams.
  • Strong computing and programming skills, with experience in Python and SQL preferred.
  • Experience with actuarial modeling software, PathWise preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skill and experience tackling in-depth research projects with the ability to conceptualize and develop solutions to complex problems
  • Proficiency in MS Office. (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Detailed and process oriented.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in business priorities and deadlines.

What you’ll receive:

  • Compensation – Candidates for this role can be hired at the Actuarial Assistant or Actuarial Associate level. Level and salary to be commensurate with exam progress.
    • Assistant Level (1-3 Exams): Base salary ranging from $72,000 to $82,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
    • Associate Level (4+ Exams): Base salary ranging from $82,000 to $95,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
