Accounting Manager - COR
We are looking for a proactive, highly motivated, and technically savvy Accounting Manager to join our Finance organization!
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Accounting Manager will own critical elements of our Cost of Revenue (COR) portfolio, including but not limited to Leases (ASC 842), Bandwidth, Fixed Assets, Cloud Computing, and Internal-Use Software (ASC 350-40).
You will regularly work cross-functionally with other Fastly finance and business teams, such as FP&A, Supply Chain, Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering.
What You'll Do:

Lead and develop the processes for the Cost of Revenue Corporate Accounting team of 2 to 3 Senior Accountants responsible for Leases (ASC 842), Bandwidth, Fixed Assets, Cloud Computing, and Internal-Use Software (ASC 350-40), both in and outside of close
-
Oversee monthly closing activities for assigned areas by reviewing, verifying, and approving accurate journal entries for all assigned areas. Review monthly reconciliations. Ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards, SOX guidelines, and internal accounting policies

Review and verify accuracy of account balances and classifications. Analyze changes in balance sheet and income statement accounts and make recommendations to correct errors. Review flux explanations for accuracy and ensure proper presentation to leadership

Manage the preparation and review of multiple schedules required to support the financial reporting process, ensuring completeness and accuracy, and coordination of requests from our auditors to complete the audit

Be an important process owner on internal controls and business processes related to the corporate accounting operations. Recommend control changes and enhancements as needed.

Design, refine, and improve the monthly close procedures, lead process and system enhancements for operational efficiencies while maintaining accounting integrity. Ensure processes are scalable with designed and maintained controls

Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and SOX controls through detailed review of journal entries, account reconciliations, key controls and monthly/quarterly flux analysis

Identify potential SOX impacts from proposed process and systems changes in assigned areas, partnering with Internal Audit to update documentation including process flowcharts and risk & control matrix

Present quarterly goals, results, and lessons learned to ensure agreement within the team.

Partner with cross-functional teams to produce accurate upstream data, identify areas for improvement, and solve problems

Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting by working cross functionally with other Fastly teams

Maintain day-to-day management of the COR Accounting task assignments, chart of accounts, financial report maintenance, and issue escalation/resolution

Assist SEC Reporting team with 10-Q/K footnote reviews, annual accounting policy review, and convention updates for assigned areas

Identify, propose and drive process and efficiency improvements to month-end close process and other accounting processes

Other ad hoc projects as needed
What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in accounting
-
7+ years progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manager-level role at a publicly traded company

Experience with Lease accounting
-
Experience with NetSuite
-
Ability to think strategically, build cross-functional relationships, and take initiative to drive results

Strong organizational and time management skills
We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

Audit experience and CPA
-
Experience with FloQast, Coupa, AuditBoard and G-Suite
-
Finance transformation and/or system implementation experience
-
Cross-team project management experience

Salary:
- The estimated salary range for this position is $123,330 to $147,996.
- Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
- This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
