Compensation*: Competitive starting salary $95,900 - $122,800 commensurate with skills and experience, Full Pay Range: $95,900 - $149,700

Our Location
Energy Trust provides for a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Accounting Manager would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.
What We’re Looking For:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the accounting team; hires and manages accounting staff, develops processes and procedures to ensure effective general ledger, revenue recognition, cost allocation, reconciliations, month-end processes and grant reporting. The Accounting Manager will lead the organization through the audit each year and will support actual financial report preparation in a highly collaborative environment. The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining and updating the system of internal controls over financial reporting. This individual reports to the Controller.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure staff are properly trained and supported, that work instructions are up to date, and that there exists sufficient backup and cross training to ensure redundancies in every critical operation.
- Implement and monitor the month, quarter, and year-end closeout accounting schedules.
- Maintain and update the system of internal controls and work instructions, monitor the effectiveness of internal controls and advise the Controller on any action items needing attention. Reinforce Energy Trust policies with staff across the organization.
- Plan and coordinate the annual audit and tax return preparation. Communicate progress to the Controller, verify statements in the audit report, and follow up on any financial management letter recommendations.
- Collaborate with others in the finance team to ensure accounting is well integrated with other finance processes across Accounting, Compliance and Financial Planning & Analysis functions.
- Actively participate on Finance systems related projects.
- Collaborate with other groups across the organization to provide financial leadership and ensure integrated operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Manage a team of professional staff performing general ledger accounting, financial reporting of actuals in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles, and financial statement audit-related activities.
Requirements
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field or equivalent professional experience. CPA licensure or advanced business degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience with 3 years in a supervisory or lead capacity
- Mid-market Enterprise Resource Planning system experience.
- Must be a proficient, innovative, and multi-tasking accounting professional who is able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service skills and experience. Must be able to interact with a diverse workforce and be comfortable working in culturally diverse settings and groups.
- Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Significant non-profit and grant accounting preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
