How You Will Make an Impact

Frida is seeking a Paid Social - Performance Video Editor (Freelance) to join our team, we're looking for a freelance video editor who understands that a strong ad needs to do more than look polished. It needs to stop the scroll, hold attention, communicate the idea quickly, and drive action. You'll primarily be editing performance-focused video ads for Meta and TikTok using raw footage, UGC, product footage, scripts, voiceovers, and creative references we provide. We're looking for someone with strong creative judgment who can take those inputs, identify the strongest moments, and turn them into ready-to-test ads without needing every edit mapped out frame by frame. You should understand performance creative and DTC advertising, not just video editing. The Paid Social - Performance Video Editor (Freelance) will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities to include

• Edit short-form paid social ads for Meta and TikTok
• Create UGC-style, creator-led, product demo, testimonial, and benefit-driven ads
• Turn raw footage, scripts, voiceovers, and creative briefs into polished, conversion-focused ads
• Develop creative variations of winning ads for continued testing
• Test different hooks, openings, pacing, captions, visuals, structures, and CTAs
• Use b-roll, on-screen text, motion graphics, sound design, and pattern interrupts to improve retention
• Adapt creative based on performance feedback and learnings
• Create platform-native ads that feel organic while still being built to convert
• Support additional projects and responsibilities as business needs and priorities evolve

What You Will Need

You should have experience editing direct-response or e-commerce ads and understand what makes paid social creative perform.

That means having a strong instinct for:

• Hooks and the first 1-3 seconds of an ad
• Fast, intentional pacing
• Retention, hold rate, and watch time
• Visual pattern interrupts
• On-screen text, captions, graphics, and b-roll
• Making footage feel native to Meta and TikTok
• Clearly communicating product benefits
• Building credibility, desire, and social proof
• Editing toward conversion, not just aesthetics
• Creative testing and iteration
• Knowing when to simplify, cut, reorder, or restructure footage to make the ad stronger

Ideal Experience:

• Meta/Facebook and TikTok ad creative
• Paid social and performance creative
• E-commerce or DTC brands
• UGC and short-form social video ads
• Direct-response advertising
• Creative testing and iteration
• Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar
• Experience using AI tools as part of your editing workflow is a plus

Our Ways of Working

The role is fully remote, with some overlap required during ET business hours, approximately 9am to 6pm ET.

This is freelance, ongoing work and can be structured hourly or per project depending on fit. We’re looking for someone we can build a long-term relationship with and consistently send footage, concepts, and creative briefs to as new ads need to be produced, tested, and iterated.
