Job Description:

Jefferson is seeking a Junior Human Capital Classifier to be considered for an anticipated award supporting The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC or the Commission).

This role will be hybrid where employees may perform work remotely or work in-person at FERC Headquarters located at 888 First St. NE Washington, DC.

Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently classifies a variety of positions, ranging from administrative to technical, applying established classification standards.

  • Conducts desk audits and interviews with employees and managers to gather comprehensive job information.

  • Prepares classification decisions and justifications, ensuring compliance with regulations.

  • Provides initial guidance to supervisors on position management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Additional experience or education may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated critical and analytical reasoning, strong problem-solving capabilities, and unwavering ethical judgement.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)

  • Experience in the following areas:

  • Federal Position Classification Standards (OPM Handbooks and Guides)

  • FPPS or similar government specific platform

  • Job Analysis Methodologies (e.g., critical incident technique, task analysis)

  • Knowledge of Organizational Structures and Design Principles

  • Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and HR Analytics Tools

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word for document creation, Excel for data analysis, PowerPoint for presentations)

  • Understanding of Federal Human Resources Regulations (Title 5, CFR)

  • Competency Modeling and Framework Development

  • Workload Management and Case Tracking Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with USA Staffing Classification preferred
