Overview

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking an Infrastructure Systems Administrator to support the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) at their Department Headquarters. This role is primarily remote with occasional on-site support as needed and focuses on enterprise Active Directory, server administration, and print services in a highly secure, mission-critical environment.

As an Infrastructure Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for serving as the technical expert and primary point of contact for Active Directory, file and print server management, and infrastructure services across PSP facilities, data centers, and disaster recovery environments. You will design, implement, and maintain enterprise standards while supporting end users, IT staff, and external vendors to ensure secure and efficient operations

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Microsoft Active Directory environments, including domain controllers, Group Policy Objects, and security group standards.
  • Serve as the agency lead for AD-related initiatives, including account provisioning, antivirus, and intrusion protection coordination.
  • Administer user accounts via CUPSS, including creation, modification, suspension, and troubleshooting of accounts and security groups.
  • Establish and enforce standards for infrastructure server operations, including file share and print server environments.
  • Manage file and print servers, including permissions, storage allocation, data migration, and configuration compliance.
  • Oversee printer infrastructure, including print queues, drivers, firmware updates, and printer management systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, account, and printer-related issues across distributed environments.
  • Act as liaison between internal teams, end users, and external vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Support disaster recovery and continuity of government (CoG) planning and execution.
  • Maintain adherence to enterprise IT policies, service management processes, and security standards.
  • Provide after-hours support as needed and respond to critical incidents.
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge management, and process improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong experience administering Microsoft Active Directory in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience managing file and print servers, including permissions, storage, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure services including domain controllers, Group Policy, and access control.
  • Experience with user account provisioning and identity management tools (e.g., CUPSS or similar systems).
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across servers, user accounts, and networked devices.
  • Understanding of IT security principles, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Willingness and ability to pass background checks, including CJIS compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting law enforcement or government IT environments.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and continuity of operations (CoG).
  • Experience managing enterprise printer environments and print management tools.
  • Knowledge of antivirus and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience working in distributed environments supporting multiple sites and data centers.
  • Familiarity with service management and knowledge management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Experience with data recovery tools such as Shadow Copy and backup systems.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
