The System Verification Engineer II is responsible for creating automated configuration and test scripts with a primary focus on Python development. This role will enhance the efficiency, reliability, and performance of products flowing through AHEAD's integration facility. The position involves creating automation solutions for various hardware, including but not limited to server systems, Edge AI devices, virtualization equipment, storage devices, and both wired and wireless networking equipment. The engineer will closely collaborate with multiple departments, such as sales, product engineering, production, and operational technology, to design, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans for hardware components.

We are seeking a proactive problem solver with a strong Python development background who can contribute to creating exceptional results and ensuring product excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Interact with other department leaders on issue resolution and process improvements 
  • Be an active role on the System Verification Engineering Team.   
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and design test plan automation accordingly. 
  • Develop and maintain software tests for system verification, including functional testing, data harvest scripts, integration testing, and performance testing.  
  • Be able to view, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues with server and device hardware through the Linux terminal efficiently. 
  • Drive development of Forge architecture through feature enhancements and additions. 
  • Document test procedures to ensure comprehensive test coverage and traceability. 
  • Assist in manufacturing ticket support for the team ensuring prompt response times 
  • Assist with creation/updating/training of ISO processes and procedures 
  • Executing verification services (including but not limited to): 

·     Performance testing 

·     Compatibility testing 

  • Software Image creation and deployment 

Skills Required

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field experience 
  • Proven experience in developing in Python, Bash & PowerShell for system verification. 
  • Proficiency in Windows/Linux/Unix operating systems. 
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies. 
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git. 
  • Knowledgeable about testing computer components 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • 8+ years of related experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. 
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible or RedFish. 
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc. 
  • Cisco certifications a plus 
  • In-depth computer component knowledge
