Medtronic is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Market Development Manager to join our Surgical Robotics business unit. This individual contributor role, reporting to the Global Senior Marketing Director, is pivotal in driving the marketing strategy for specific surgical specialties, managing clinical claims, and promoting clinical evidence to maximize the impact and market penetration of our robotic systems. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the surgical and medical landscape, coupled with a proven track record in strategic marketing and evidence-based promotion.


Responsibilities include:

  • Surgical Specialty Marketing: Develop and implement robust marketing strategies for the use of robotic technology in designated surgical specialties. Craft targeted messages, identify key market segments, and deploy marketing tactics to enhance brand visibility and adoption among healthcare professionals.

  • Claims Management: Oversee the development and substantiation of claims related to our robotic systems. Work closely with legal, regulatory, and clinical teams to ensure claims are accurate, compliant, and effectively support marketing strategies.

  • Clinical Evidence Promotion: Lead initiatives to communicate and leverage clinical evidence that underscores the efficacy and safety of our robotic systems. Develop materials and campaigns to disseminate findings through various channels, including digital platforms, conferences, and direct engagements with key opinion leaders.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive awareness, customer engagement, and adoption of Medtronic's surgical solutions.

  • Market Insights: Continuously gather and analyze market data, competitor activities, and industry trends to inform strategic decisions and adjust marketing plans accordingly.

  • Global travel approximately 20-25%

 

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in marketing, market development or similar or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in marketing, market development or similar.

 

Nice to Have

  • Master’s Degree

  • Strong understanding of clinical research and evidence-based marketing practices.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute marketing strategies that align with complex regulatory landscapes and diverse customer needs.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global team environment.

  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$127,200.00 - $190,800.00

 

 

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

 

U.S. Pay Transparency (for SIP, Commission, Hourly Direct, Interns, Executives)The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

 

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
