Job Description:

COMPANY SUMMARY

Northteq is a technology company that makes digital transformation in lending easier than ever before. With over 25 years of experience and 150+ lending clients, we provide thoughtfully designed technology solutions that streamline the loan origination process for the commercial lending and equipment finance industries.

Our flagship solution, Aurora, is a fully automated loan/lease origination system (LOS) and vendor/customer portal. Aurora enables lenders and their partners to automate the origination process from application to funding in just 3 minutes. We also partner with some of today's most innovative fintech companies to create turnkey Salesforce apps that simplify and automate the loan origination process.

Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, we offer fully remote and hybrid career options; so when you work for Northteq, you can work from anywhere!

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Product Designer to create intuitive, user-centered experiences across our Aurora product suite. You will partner with product managers, engineers, and customers to design solutions that simplify complex equipment finance workflows. This role requires someone who can balance business objectives with user needs while designing for a specialized financial services audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end user experiences for web-based financial software, from discovery and research through final implementation and iteration
  • Create interactive prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design concepts to cross-functional teams
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and customer interviews to validate design decisions and identify pain points in equipment finance workflows
  • Collaborate with product managers to translate business requirements and customer feedback into intuitive design solutions that meet both user and lender needs
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and maintain quality throughout implementation, providing specifications and guidance as needed
  • Contribute to and maintain our design system, creating reusable components and patterns that ensure consistency across the Aurora platform
  • Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback while advocating for user needs and design best practices
  • Analyze product metrics and user behavior data to measure design impact and identify opportunities for improvement

Employee is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.

  • Experience conducting user research and translating insights into actionable design improvements
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design patterns
  • Demonstrated ability to design for complex workflows and data-heavy interfaces
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively in remote environments
  • Experience designing for fintech products, financial services, lending, B2B SaaS, or enterprise software
  • Experience designing products that meet web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design practices
