Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Developer (Python - Microservices & APIs) with 8 to 10 years of experience to lead the architectural design and implementation of our core services. In this role, you will be responsible for building high-throughput, low-latency asynchronous microservices and production-grade REST APIs that serve as the backbone for our application and data ecosystems.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will handle complex challenges around data orchestration, API security, and performance tuning. You will operate in a collaborative, cross-functional Agile environment, bridging the gap between Frontend, MLOps, Data Engineering, and DevOps to ensure service consistency, observability, and bulletproof security at scale.

Requirements
 

• Experience: 8-10 years of backend development experience with a heavy focus on building distributed, cloud-native microservices.
• Python Expertise: Master-level proficiency in Python, with a deep understanding of asynchronous programming (asyncio), concurrency, and FastAPI.
• Security Discipline: Proven track record of securely managing token-based authentication flows and integrating complex identity providers (SSO/OAuth2).
• Cloud & Data Proficiency: Solid hands-on experience navigating the GCP ecosystem, structured data analysis in BigQuery, and designing schemas for relational and non-relational databases.
• Testing & Infrastructure: Strong engineering discipline with automated testing frameworks and a clear understanding of CI/CD deployment mechanics using containers.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional technical communication skills, an Agile mindset, and the leadership capacity to align diverse engineering teams around unified backend systems.

Job responsibilities
 

• API & Microservice Architecture: Design, build, and optimize scalable, asynchronous REST APIs and microservices using FastAPI and Python.
• Data Orchestration & Databases: Implement efficient data flows across systems, utilizing GCP services, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Security & Authentication: Architect and maintain secure authentication/authorization layers, including OAuth2, JWT, SSO integrations, and Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC).
• Observability & Performance: Drive API performance tuning, versioning strategies, robust error handling, and integrate monitoring/logging tools for proactive system observability.
• Quality Assurance & DevOps: Establish rigorous testing standards using Pytest (unit/integration tests) and support containerized deployments across Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Cross-Team Leadership: Coordinate closely with Frontend, QA, MLOps, and Data Engineering teams to align on contract designs, API specifications, and end-to-end service reliability.
