We’re the same organization, with the same mission and determination to realize a world free from type 1 diabetes (T1D) – just with a new name and look that reflects what the T1D community needs now and next.
It’s an exciting time to join Breakthrough T1D as we continue to break barriers to help people better manage the disease and enjoy full, healthy lives. Curing T1D is and always will be our north star and we will not stop until breakthroughs get us to a world free from T1D.
Breakthrough T1D is searching for an experienced professional for the role of National Bilingual Fundraising Assistant. If you are fluent in EN/FR, detail-oriented and a relationship driven fundraising professional who would like to support national fundraising programs, engage and inspire participants across Canada and help deliver exceptional fundraising and supporter experience, please read on to see if this is the right fit for you.
Here’s what your primary responsibilities would be:
· Serve as the primary French-language customer service representative for Breakthrough T1D Canada, providing support and responding to inquiries received through the national French phone line, email inbox, website, and other communication channels.
· Act as the first point of contact for French-speaking constituents, including donors, event participants, volunteers, families, healthcare professionals, researchers, corporate partners, and members of the public seeking information about Breakthrough T1D Canada.
· Provide prompt, professional, trusted, and exceptional customer service in both French and English, ensuring a positive supporter experience.
· Conduct a high volume of outbound recruitment and engagement calls, emails, and follow-up activities to support registration, team formation, participant retention, and fundraising activity across Breakthrough T1D Canada's national fundraising programs.
· Proactively engage prospective participants, past participants, volunteers, and supporters to encourage involvement in Breakthrough T1D Walk, Ride, and other fundraising initiatives.
· Maintain accurate constituent records within the CRM, including participant information, donor data, interactions, registrations, and fundraising activities.
· Generate, distribute, and monitor standard fundraising and recruitment reports developed by the national fundraising team to support the day-to-day activities of regional fundraising staff.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
· Fluency in both French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
· 1-2 years of experience in customer service, administration, fundraising support, or a related role.
· Strong customer service and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel; experience working with CRM databases is considered an asset.
· Experience managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
· Strong data entry, reporting, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
· Confidence communicating with new and unfamiliar individuals by phone, email, and other communication channels.
Working Style
· Highly organized and detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
· Customer-focused and service-driven, with a passion for creating positive supporter experiences.
· Proactive and self-motivated, taking initiative to solve problems and follow through on tasks.
· Collaborative team player who builds positive relationships across departments and regions.
· Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and seasonal demands.
· Professional, discreet, and trustworthy when handling confidential information.
· Results-oriented with a strong commitment to supporting fundraising growth and participant engagement.
Other position requirements to note:
· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak fundraising and event seasons.
· Comfortable conducting a high volume of outbound recruitment and engagement calls.
· Ability to support participants and troubleshoot online fundraising and registration platforms.
· Must be able to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across Canada.
· Comfortable working with databases, reporting tools, and fundraising technology platforms.
The salary range for this role is anticipated to be $52,000 - $57,000, commensurate with skills and experience level of the selected candidate.
Location Preference: Anywhere within Canada, with the ability to effectively support national fundraising programs, engage participants and donors across the country and collaborate with regional and national teams in a remote environment.
