Job Description:
- Work with unique cultural and research audio collections, contributing to their preservation and accessibility for future generations.
- Be part of a collaborative and innovative digitisation environment within a leading Group of Eight University.
- Part-time (0.6 FTE) appointment (ideally over 3 days) on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
- Base salary: $77,205 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The University Library supports the University's teaching, learning and research mission by providing access to high-quality information resources, services and spaces. Within the Library, the Research and Collections section delivers services spanning resource acquisition and management, archives and records, research support, and digitisation.
Records, Archives & Digitisation Services includes the Digitisation Centre of Western Australia, which partners with internal and external stakeholders to digitise cultural, historical and research collections. The team plays a key role in preserving valuable materials and enhancing access through high-quality digital outputs and adherence to best practice standards.
About the opportunity
- Support the digitisation of diverse physical collections with a focus on audio materials by preparing, capturing and processing materials to established standards.
- Contribute to quality assurance, metadata practices and reporting to ensure the integrity and accessibility of digitised content.
- Maintain digitisation equipment and collaborate with team members and collection owners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
About you
- Demonstrated experience working with digitisation equipment, processes and digital file management.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
- Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to provide advice and work effectively with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant information and communication technologies.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, showing initiative and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
