About the role

As Test Engineering Chapter Lead, you will lead the uplift of quality engineering capability across the Test Engineering Chapter. You will guide test engineers, embed modern testing frameworks, and support delivery teams to improve speed, confidence, and outcomes. This role blends people leadership with hands-on influence across tooling, standards, and ways of working.

What you'll do

  • Lead a chapter of test engineering professionals, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance support to build strong capability and engagement.
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve testing frameworks, tools, and standards that support agile and scalable delivery.
  • Support delivery excellence by guiding test scoping, resourcing, and execution, and acting as an escalation point for complex delivery risks.
  • Partner closely with delivery, change, and engineering chapters to integrate testing seamlessly into end-to-end ways of working.
  • Identify opportunities to apply automation, AI, and prompt engineering to improve test coverage, efficiency, and asset quality.
  • Build a collaborative community of practice that promotes learning, innovation, and consistent quality outcomes.

What you'll bring 

  • 10+ years technology experience with 5+ years leading people and teams.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, with a strong track record of developing and supporting high-performing teams.
  • Deep expertise in test management and execution, including practical application across complex delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of test automation and modern quality engineering practices within agile delivery models.
  • Experience working in regulated environments, ideally within financial services or insurance.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships across technology, delivery, risk, and business teams.
