Job Description

It begins with a Card Member using their American Express Card at one of our millions of Merchants around the world—the rest is up to us. The Global Network Operations (GNO) team is at the heart of the American Express enterprise powering millions of transactions through our global payments processing network, processing $1 Trillion in annual spend and serving issuers and acquirers in over 90 markets worldwide. GNO is unique within the enterprise. We work across almost every business unit within the organization as well as interact with external partners, providers, and key industry stakeholders.

The Global Network Product team leads the product function for the Global Network. We are a team of intellectually curious problem solvers charged with tracking the pulse of the payments industry designing and developing seamless, secure customer interactions and building globally scalable product capabilities, driving interoperability, and end consumer delight.

The Role:

Join the team where you will get to work on next generation payment product capabilities. We are looking for a talented technical writer with a passion and knack for taking complex topics and breaking them down with a customer lens. You will work with a team of talented and passionate product owners that are building next generation payment products and you will play a big role in making it come alive for our customers. This role will create implementation documents that will give our large B2B customers/partners, a step by step guide to implementing and integrating with our product. You will also contribute to projects that keep the product team running, and come up with content strategies for spreading the word about our products.

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • You write well, with structure and grammar. You are proficient in Visio, flowcharts, charts and other tools for visual representation of written content.
  • You love to learn, and teach, and are comfortable in the company of engineers and developers and technical folks
  • You are detail oriented and highly organized.
  • You love structure and are analytical.
  • You are creative and use graphics (flows, diagrams) to simplify complex topics.
  • You are comfortable with new topics and can see the big picture and details of what a customer needs to do to adopt our product.
  • You enjoy working with people, you can take tech speak and jargon and convert into business speak.
  • You have a very strong work ethic, you go the extra mile, take pride in your work and it reflects in your end product.

While we would prefer this person to be located in one of our offices in NYC or Phoenix, AZ, virtual applications will be considered, but need to be available to meet with product owners and the team during normal business hours. We are a global team so some flexibility is expected.

Bonus points: If you have worked on API specs, Swagger documents, payments products, technical specifications, B2B products.

If you have content strategy experience.

Technical degree is ideal, but not required as long as you have the demonstrated aptitude to understand technical B2B topics.
