As part of this full-time, time-limited position, the Social Work Practitioner(s)will work remotely to deliver Teach2Reach in Youth Development Centers and Residential Programs around the Chatham and Mecklenburg/Cabarrus County areas and the Lenoir and Edgecombe/Nash County Areas.
The position(s) will provide training to Youth Development Center and Residential Program staff on sex trafficking and responding to victims using a trauma-informed approach. The position(s) will establish a multidisciplinary team at partnering Youth Development Centers and Residential Programs, and will convene teams on a regular basis to develop interagency protocols, review sex trafficking cases (i.e, both for youth at risk and for those who have been trafficked), and determine referrals for effective response and support of the youth.
The position(s) will coordinate with partnering Youth Development Centers and Residential Programs to deliver the Teach2Reach program – a NC-specific sex trafficking awareness and identification program focused on educating youth about sex trafficking. The position(s) will also work with partnering sites to implement the Teach2Reach identification and response protocol to screen for sex trafficking and connect victims to services in a manner that is trauma-informed and incorporates evidence-based crisis mental health techniques. The position(s) will also provide partnering sites with guidance on adapting discharge planning to reduce re-victimization.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Must be able to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
MSW preferred. Preferred training and experience in trauma-focused treatment modalities; training and experience in sex trafficking advocacy service provision; training and experience in violence prevention and/or response; training and experience working with juvenile justice-involved youth.
