We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team and play a key role in supporting the global Security and Resiliency Organization (SRO). The SRO is growing and evolving at an incredible pace and requires expert counsel to help navigate the constantly changing landscape of regulatory, litigation, brand, operational, and other risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to SRO management and team members for the development of policies, procedures, protocols, assessments, and reporting requirements related to product security, cybersecurity, physical security, supply chain security, and enterprise resiliency (crisis management, business continuity, and disaster recovery)
  • Review and provide guidance on security practices, including adoption of applicable controls and industry certifications
  • Manage the review of customer information security schedules and provide guidance for contract negotiations and Dell’s third-party risk management program
  • Contribute to the ongoing creation and update of legal templates and playbooks associated with security
  • Provide legal awareness and compliance training to legal colleagues and business clients
  • Perform legal research on emerging cybersecurity issues impacting Dell and SRO
  • Partner with global subject matter experts to assist with research and compliance efforts to ensure effective compliance programs
  • Contribute with a positive attitude within the SRO Legal team and the Dell Legal department; participation is encouraged in department initiatives, events and community-based goals

ssential Requirements:

  • JD and admission to practice law in the United States
  • 5+ years relevant law firm, in-house, or cybersecurity consulting experience
  • Hands-on expertise with cybersecurity frameworks / standards (including ISO27001 and NIST CSF)
  • Strong hands-on expertise and knowledge of cybersecurity regulations and industry standards (e.g. GLBA, HIPAA, NYDFS, PCI-DSS, GDPR, CCPA, et al)
  • Experience with third-party risk management strategies for information technology suppliers
  • Extensive experience with counseling clients on cybersecurity and IT compliance, risk management, and cyber security audits

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience with emerging global cybersecurity and data privacy laws and regulatory frameworks and associated compliance regimes
  • Experience with supporting cybersecurity breach litigation
  • Experience negotiating security controls and requirements
  • Understands IT and Security technical concepts and methodologies and has ability to communicate and discuss technical concepts
  • Legal project management experience is helpful
