What’s the project?
Gun.io has been asked to source a Senior AWS System Administrator.
This non-profit company has been in business for 10+ years and the site has 500,000+ users. Additionally, they partner with many USA school systems. The company is located in Palo Alto, CA and looking for a USA-based remote team member.
The Senior AWS System Administrator will be responsible for managing the operation of a large non-profit website which includes a library of books/textbooks with people with reading disabilities. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a self starter, thorough, and detail oriented. In-depth experience with AWS technologies is paramount. Additionally, you’ll need to be able to diagnose and troubleshoot issues to restore the app online, when necessary. You’ll be responsible for continuous improvements to the product and system using AWS products.
Geography: Open to candidates who can work 6+ hours overlap with USA Pacific Time Zone (UTC−08:00) the business day. Candidates located in the United States or Canada strongly encouraged to apply. This is a fully remote, full-time gig.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
Start & Duration: Start immediately. Contract expected to be at least 1 year.
What’s the process?
In keeping with our promise to only provide elite Professional Freelancers, Gun.io’s vetting process is stringent and includes: a code challenge, credential check, three 30-minute interviews, and live reference checks. However, you will only need to complete that vetting process for your first Gun.io project. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to seamlessly move on and off freelance projects.
Candidates who pass Gun.io’s internal vetting will be given an opportunity to directly engage and interview with Gun.io’s clients.
Must have experience:
- Demonstrated expert-level knowledge AWS services and AWS system administration in production
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues to restore the app online
- Detail oriented
- Self-driven with a sense of urgency
- Proven team player in a remote collaboration environment
- Interact and communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
Nice to have:
- AWS Certification(s) – Please list any certs you have in your application
