Job Description: Parexel’s first class Medical Communications team has an exciting opportunity in leadership for a Scientific Strategy Advisor. Reporting to our Sr. Director of Scientific Services, Strategy and Innovation, the Scientific Strategy Advisor role in Medical Communications is a key member of the team, and provides much needed thought leadership and strategic counsel to US based clients and local high level proposal/pitch support to enable business wins.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of MedCom s service offerings and processes and contribute to the development of innovative service offerings
  • Strategic understanding of environmental issues, the marketplace, and how MedCom can deliver within this space
  • Able to successfully market functional services and demonstrate significant client and TA knowledge, supporting in new business opportunities/wins
  • Provide leadership on scientific strategy and writing, both internally and from the clients perspective, across business opportunities and designated accounts
  • Proactively lead accounts and undertake writing, editing, and reviewing of scientific content for a range of publications and media according to client needs at the highest level, setting the bar for other writers/scientific account leads
  • Undertake the full range of duties relevant to the scientific leadership and development of the writing team (coaching and mentoring other writers) to facilitate performance that meets and/or exceeds client expectations in terms of quality, timing, and costs, and to develop writers abilities to meet business needs and personal goals/objectives

Successful candidates for this role will possess:


  • Degree and a higher degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Medicine (BSc, BA, PharmD, PhD, MD)

Minimum Work Experience

  • Extensive agency experience and proven authoritative interactions with clients and KOLs
  • In-depth experience in delivery of the key offerings and services within medical communications publications (primarily publications)
  • Demonstrated versatility in gaining in-depth disease, market, and product understanding and adept at understanding scientific issues and their commercial implications
  • Demonstrated experience as a scientific advisor providing scientific and strategic input to accounts
