Job Title: Learning and Development Specialist II

Department: Talent Management & Culture (TM&C)

Location: Remote

Direct Report: Manager, Learning Programs (US)

Job Overview

This position will develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs, curricula and corresponding materials for all clinical and non-clinical employees.

The L&D Specialist II will facilitate and ensure compliance of Risk Adjustment (RA) training programs; determine training effectiveness and recommend enhancements while keeping abreast of clinical coding guidelines and auditing protocols.

This role will collaborate with the Manager, Learning Programs in consulting with key department contacts to identify training needs and design programs and tools that support performance initiatives and strategic objectives. This position will report directly to the Manager, Learning Programs in the US.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the US and manila L&D Team; monitors the US training and coaching needs on a project by project basis;
  • Develop and/or customize training curriculums and training-related processes; insures successful implementation of training processes and programs
  • Develops training materials and facilitates training sessions
  • Analyzes learning and performance trends and develops an action plan to address learning gaps and improve delivery of training
  • Remains current on medical coding and billing guidelines and auditing protocols
  • Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association and adheres to official coding guidelines
  • Participates in testing and training as required by the Company
  • Prepare regular, accurate and meaningful reports related to training
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required and as assigned by the manager

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven experience in project management; Strong organizational skills – ability to prioritize, plan, and follow tasks through to completion without direct supervision
  • Knowledge/familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job, ILT, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.) required
  • Excellent training facilitation skills preferred
  • Ability to assess and implement training and in-service needs to provide consultation and arrange/facilitate training sessions
  • Extensive knowledge of medical billing and payment methodologies, including coding guidelines for ICD-10 (demonstrated understanding of CMS HCC Risk Adjustment coding and data validation requirements preferred)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (English); strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of medical records
  • Coding certification of any of the following, required: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, CRC, CRN-C, CPMA, CIC, COC
  • Three – five years’ experience as a medical coder (ICD, CPT, E/M, etc.) required
  • RAD- V Audit knowledge/skills preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, required


  • Diploma/Certificate, AS, BS, MS, LPN, RN with one of the required certifications
