QA Automation Architect – US based, telecommute

Position Summary:

As a Sr. QA Automation Architect you will be serve as a domain expert in defining and rolling out Automation Frameworks, processes, best practices for the Automation Strategies. Design, develop and maintain Automation testing architecture. You will actively engage in planning meetings, standups, estimation and product demos.

Role Responsibilities/What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with Dev and QA teams in all aspect of the automation development process from requirement gathering through iterative develop-and-test cycles.
  • Adding and updating automation backlog and assigning tasks when applicable.
  • Periodic audit of automation code base.
  • Evaluate, select and formulate best usage of test automation tools for different products.
  • Responsible for maintaining, improving and implementing QA automation Framework.
  • Strategize & align long term solution for automation including roadmap, tools, framework & approach with management.
  • Document and define QA automation processes.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, training and mentoring to Automation test engineers for the implementation of testing automation.
  • Lead automation test case design and code reviews. Suggesting changes and updates where applicable.

Key Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • 7 + years experience using Selenium WebDriver
  • 7-10 years designing automated test scripts for web-based applications
  • 5 + years experience with SQL
  • Adding and updating automation backlog and assigning tasks when applicable.
  • Periodic audit of automation code base.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Identify, diagnose and report test suite issues
  • Participate as QA resource on agile project teams
  • Coordinate test script execution among agile project team.
  • Interact closely with developers offering suggestions and ideas for improving the quality of products
  • Analyze testing results to enhance future test plans and scenarios (including metrics and benchmarks to gauge improvement)
  • Testing in Windows/Mac, all browsers IE/FireFox/Chrome/Safari.
  • Report progress/issues to management
  • Code reviews for other automation engineers
  • Identify, log, track and report bugs to QA management and development team
  • Design, develop, maintain and document automated test framework and modules
  • Other duties as assigned.
