My client is a leading, global Life Sciences focused consulting, data and insights firm. The Consultant role is within their Clinical & Scientific Assessment (CSA) team of the Oncology and Specialty Therapeutics (OST) division. The Consultant will apply their strongoncology foundation, knowledge of the drug development process, research orientation, and excellent written and verbal skills to lead projects and support the growth of the custom oncology business and syndicated product offerings. This position reports to a Director.

My client helps life sciences companies develop products that improve people’s lives and well-being. The oncology team works with most of the leading commercial, scientific and clinical pros working on developing and marketing therapies for cancer patients. The blend of consulting, data analytics, and real-world research and evidence enables clients to understand patients, physicians, and payers, bring products to market quickly.

  • Become an oncology expert on clinical treatment practices and commercial drug development strategies across all tumor types in major global markets
  • Contribute to the growth of the syndicated data/insights offering which includes (market sizing, current treatment practices, future market evolution) through writing reports, market research, and creating / implementing new data offers
  • Contribute to custom consulting engagements, which may entail working independently or part of a larger team. Examples of custom engagements may include:
  • Product assessments, market landscaping, portfolio strategy (pipeline/launch), competitive intelligence, forecasting, due diligence, and may involve aspects of qualitative/quantitative market research, and secondary data analysis
  • Efficiently synthesize findings, develop impactful recommendations, and effectively communicate results to clients
  • Leverage client facing experience and opportunities to drive product and consulting growth within the existing customer community base and with new customers
  • Collaborate with our business development team to uncover potential sales through data needs, or custom consulting opportunities at key pharma / biotech clients
  • Support senior leadership for custom pitches, capabilities presentations, proposals, and broader engagements

To succeed, you will need:

  • A PhD in Life Sciences, or MD, with a minimum of 2 years strategy consulting or commercial pharmaceutical / biotech experience in the oncology field
  • An interest in strategy, data and insights driving drug development and commercial strategies
  • An understanding of client business issues related to oncology products, and the commercialization and strategic planning process
  • To be a team player and demonstrate working with stakeholders at different levels
  • strong communication skills across clients, peers, and management
  • The ability to influence, inspire and motivate those with different expertise
  • To display a keen attention to detail, and ability to plan and organize
  • Ability to travel both domestic and international 10% of the time
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
