Job Description:

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Marketing and Communications Director is responsible for executing various marketing, communications, and social media activities to increase brand awareness, drive lead generation, and position Insight Education Group, as well as its executives, as thought leaders in the education space. Additionally, the Marketing and Communications Director will create and implement a strategy for building relationships with new state, district, and school partners.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Direct, plan, and coordinate the marketing and communications efforts of the organization
  • Create and maintain a strong content marketing calendar while consistently managing blogs, email and social media campaigns, webinars, videos, press releases, and speaking engagements
  • Track and analyze performance of campaigns to inform and adjust future marketing strategy
  • Create content for and manage all marketing materials to drive lead generation and brand awareness, including: email campaigns, blogs, playbooks, website, video, brochures, presentation decks, and mass mailings, etc.
  • Direct, plan, and guide website and social media presence (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube)
  • Update website using HubSpot, largely focusing on high-conversion landing pages and ensuring alignment with current priorities
  • Identify and cultivate external relationships with new state education agencies, districts, and schools
  • Establish, nurture, and grow a community of followers and brand advocates/ ambassadors; attract new partners as a component of a larger marketing and storytelling strategy
  • Bring innovation and new ideas to the organization’s marketing, communications, and branding
  • Manage and update contacts, lists, and leads in HubSpot and Salesforce
  • Assist with the support of website inquiries (including live chat) and filter them to the appropriate team member
  • Develop and refine marketing goals, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and branding in consultation with Insight leadership
  • Direct market analysis and research to identify new trends and opportunities
  • Monitor market changes and adjust marketing strategies accordingly in order to remain competitive
  • Oversee vendors and serve as a liaison on behalf of Insight
  • Leverage Insight’s existing conferences and events to create new partners
  • Participate in weekly and bi-weekly business development team calls
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of work experience in relevant field
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, marketing, communications, business administration or a related field
  • Background working on marketing, communications, graphic design, storytelling, and branding
  • Background working in education or a school environment and knowledge of education policy and research landscape preferred
  • Ability to manage priorities and work independently
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences and stakeholders
  • Understanding of SEM and SEO, and both paid and organic social media strategies
  • Proficiency with Excel, Power Point, Word, Gmail, and basic coding skills
  • Experience with HubSpot and Salesforce preferred

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in education, marketing, communications, business administration or a related field
  • Ability to maintain and update website content and CRM through HubSpot
  • Ability to contribute to proposal generation and to seek out partnership opportunities

Preferred Certifications:

  • Professional Certified Marketer (PCM)
  • HubSpot’s Inbound Certification
  • Google Analytics and AdWords
  • Project Management Certification (PMP)


  • Advertising skills and knowledge of the advertising industry

Currently, our staff members reside in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington D.C. The location for this position is flexible.


The salary for this position is DOE.
