  • Crisis Text Line is a tech company headquartered in NY which provides free, 24/7 crisis support via text to members of the public via trained volunteers.
  • The Law Enforcement Response Manager will lead and coordinate our external safety efforts as we continue our expansion around the globe, overseeing and coordinating how the org will handle active rescues of imminent risk texters nationally and internationally, including through various messaging and OTT services.
  • The Law Enforcement Response Manager will be the point person for all things external-facing when it comes to imminent risk conversations on our platform, working with relevant technology providers, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to bring Crisis Text Line’s active rescues to a place of simplicity, clarity, and speed. (A Director-level title may be considered for applicants with extensive experience.)


  • First responder management. You will develop and implement a strategy for how Crisis Text Line interacts with PSAPs in the U.S. and relevant law enforcement or emergency services providers overseas to ensure quick and safe active rescues for texters at risk.
  • Partnerships. You will develop partnerships with influencers and decision-makers in the public safety space to ensure we can broaden our reach and send help quickly to texters in need. You will help build local, state, federal, and international partnerships with first responders and other stakeholders involved in active rescues of texters at imminent risk.
  • Working groups. You will participate in key working groups in the field to ensure best practices in the field of public safety. You will represent Crisis Text Line at relevant gatherings and conferences (NENA; FOSI; etc.).
  • Cross-functional. You will work closely with all teams at Crisis Text Line to understand the pain points relating to texter safety, and develop solutions to improve the org’s Active Rescue process.


WHO YOU ARE. The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • International tech experience with first responders in imminent risk situations. You have experience working with law enforcement and related public safety stakeholders in connection with complex multi-platform messaging and OTT service providers with international scope (e.g. Facebook Messenger; WhatsApp) during public safety crises.
  • You lead with [com]passion. You lead your peers with motivation and support, and you are driven by our purpose, love for our community, and our texters. Ideally, you are already a current Crisis Counselor, or willingness to complete our Crisis Counselor training.
  • You are a team player. You work with a team to keep everyone paddling in the same direction.
  • You follow through. You are excited to iterate, improve, and offer feedback on the role. This is a new role that will require feedback and a solution based outlook.
  • You are positive and resilient. You can handle being held accountable for multiple moving parts while maintaining a positive “can do” attitude.
