Junior Project Manager

GDH Consulting is seeking candidates for a remote Jr. Project Manager position.

Responsibilities 
Prepare, Plan, and Deliver using project management methodologies across the entire project lifecycle, from pre-sales engagement, to project delivery, through contract closure.

Requirements Gathering:

  • Work w/Engineers & customer to document project requirements
  • Define and collect technical data points required for Project success

Cost Estimation and Project Planning:

  • Develop Work Breakdown Structure to define effort level and amounts to complete project efforts
  • Work with Engineers to establish a critical path
  • Document Project Assumptions and Risk
  • Draw up a quote to be provided as a cost estimate to Customer

Implementation Support:

  • Lead/Support implementation cutovers
  • Define and follow escalation plans
  • Document issues and lessons to be learned
  • Communicate project status
  • Work to coordinate multiple teams to deliver successful project changes

Project Financials Setup, Tracking, and Closure:

  • Establishing initial Project Budgets
  • Perform Revenue & Cost Forecasting
  • Track Financial Health of Project
  • Invoice customer for work completed
  • Follow Business Policy throughout the lifecycle to project closure
  • Deliver Projects in accordance with ISO 9000 Policy

Required Experience & Skill Set:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with Large Enterprise Size Customers to implement Voice Networking Technology Projects
  • Strong MS Excel skills: Simple math, Formulas, pivot tables, V Lookups, etc.
  • 5 – 8 years’ experience using MS Project to setup and deliver projects
  • Significant ability to communicate with Business terms and Technical Vocabulary

Preferred Experience & Skill Set:

  • Certifications: PMP(or Prince), ITIL, CCNA, MCSE (In order of Preference)
  • 2 – 5 Years’ experience working with Telecommunications Projects
  • Special focus on Voice/Collaboration technologies
  • Resources must be able to work Eastern Time hours
  • Non-standard working hours are required (nights and weekend included)
