Title: Inclusion and Diversity Communications Leader – Corporate Affairs

Role Summary:

The Inclusion & Diversity Communications Leader supports the global VP of Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) to develop and execute communications strategy in support of our culture at Baker Hughes. This person will play an important role in building internal and external understanding and support of the Baker Hughes commitment to inclusion and diversity. The position reports directly to the global HR Communications Director and dotted line to the global VP of Inclusion & Diversity, and works with the I&D, HR, and enterprise communications teams across the organization, as well as with external parties.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the strategy and framework for Inclusion & Diversity internal and external communications
  • Develop and execute plans that position the VP of I&D and other key business representatives as internal and external thought leaders
  • Work with the HR Communications Director and VP of I&D to identify opportunities to partner with external organizations and causes that align with our I&D strategy
  • Partner with various groups to develop and drive social media and thought leadership that enable us to showcase our I&D commitment, voice, and accomplishments
  • Collaborate with, connect, and empower global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to communicate key initiatives; support and elevate the voice and programs of our ERGs within key internal and external channels through integrated storytelling
  • Partner with business and HR leadership on the design and implementation of communication plans to attract, retain, and promote a diverse workforce
  • Identify global and regional external I&D award and recognition opportunities, including top external ratings and rankings of workforce and I&D performance; manage participation parameters and criteria, and support submission process
  • Ensure a smart, common look and feel to all I&D communications, including advising ERG teams on communication strategy and style
  • Shape, build, and keep current I&D pages on Baker Hughes internal and external platforms, in coordination with web and intranet teams; regularly measure and adjust content based on metrics and feedback
  • Work across a variety of teams and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, as well as manage and support external communications where appropriate, working closely with enterprise communications
  • Partner with the HR and enterprise communications team to ensure a holistic approach to internal and external communications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or journalism
  • Experienece working on inclusion and diversity initiatives

  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding organization, presentation, listening, and verbal and written communication skills (fluent in written and spoken English)
  • Experience in content strategy development and execution
  • A confident, proactive self-starter who approaches communications plans with a creative and analytical mind
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects while maintaining a high quality of work
  • Ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization from senior-level executives to all other employee groups; ability to influence stakeholders and drive change
