Front End Engineer, AWS Kumo

Job summary
The Kumo team is at the forefront of Cloud technologies with interactions across the full breadth of AWS services. Kumo works across all AWS Customers from big & diverse enterprise’s like movie streaming services and National Aeronautics and Space Administration to small customers as they move their infrastructure to the cloud. Kumo interacts with all AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Redshift, DynamoDB and others.

The AWS Kumo team is looking for Front End Engineer with experience in building real-time, scalable, distributed systems. We leverage AWS technologies to operate on a global scale and deliver low-latency, highly-available services to customers and systems. Additional responsibilities includes but not limited to:

· Take ownership and build high-performance systems in a complex, distributed environment
· Work on front end development using one of following frameworks: React, Angular, or similar
· Use HTML, CSS, JavaScript and general Web 2.0 techniques.
· Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization

· The pay range for this position in Colorado is $143,700k – 194,400/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. The pay range for this position in New York City is $158,100 – 213,800 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
· 2+ years of professional front-end development.
· Strong UX design skills, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
· Skilled with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
· Deep experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks such as React.
· Ability to rapidly prototype and adjust in response to customer feedback
· Solid coding practices including peer code reviews, unit testing, and a preference for agile development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Ability to rapidly prototype and adjust in response to customer feedback
· Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Solid coding practices including peer code reviews, unit testing, and a preference for agile development.
· Experience building scalable front-end infrastructure software or distributed systems for commercial online services.
· Exposure to Front-end libraries/framework – React, Angular
· Understands how to optimize the delivery of code and assets to a browser or device
· Proficient in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns. Knows when (and when not) to use front-end software design patterns
· Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.
· Ability to decompose a problem into clear software and UX design actions.
· Ability to articulate the benefits and challenges of depending on front-end libraries, frameworks, and tool-sets.
