For Wiley’s highly interdisciplinary flagship title Advanced Materials we are hiring
The journal has been publishing the latest progress in materials science research every week for over 30 years. Carefully selected, top-quality Reviews, Progress Reports, Communications, and Research News cover research at the cutting edge of the chemistry and physics of functional materials. Advanced Materials has an Impact Factor of 25.809 (2018 Journal Impact Factor, Journal Citation Reports (Clarivate Analytics, 2019)). As the flagship title, it is core to the success of our materials science portfolio.
- Triage and peer review of submitted manuscripts
- Strategic development of the journal
- Extensive engagement with the scientific community
- Representing Wiley and Advanced Materials at conferences and research institutes
- Working closely with colleagues across Wiley and the Materials Science portfolio to ensure a consistent strategy, continued growth, and optimized workflows throughout the Product organization
We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Editor-in-Chief with excellent leadership, interpersonal, and networking skills, as collaborating and networking with colleagues and researchers is an important aspect of the job. The candidate will hold a PhD (post-doctoral experience preferred) in materials science, chemistry, physics, or a related area. Previous editorial or publishing experience is advantageous, but not essential. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in science and science communication and will be a strong advocate for innovations in publishing and open research. An excellent command of English is essential, as well as the ability to organize, prioritize, multitask, focus, and be an effective team player.
