DESCRIPTION

The CSD Works Director is responsible for the overall operational development and management of high-quality economic development related services designed to: support and guide clients to find and secure gainful employment, support employer growth of Deaf-owned businesses through job training liaisons, lead compliance and workplace assessment initiatives for community and corporate partners, and advocate for projects and policies important to the economic health of the deaf community.

Essential Functions

  • Identifies opportunities to expand the CSD Works portfolio of products, services, training platforms, and economic development opportunities that address barriers to employment and business growth
  • Oversees the development and operational functions of CSD Works employment and transitional employment programs, including the direct management of support staff, and CSD Works job support platforms
  • Supports staff in consumer assessment and maintains quality of service provision
  • Develops and oversees workplace assessments and business compliance initiatives and resources
  • Seeks opportunities to become a vendor for workplace assessment and compliance services
  • Ensures CSD is in compliance with all Employment Network, Vocational Rehabilitation and employer agreements and is in adherence to federal and state regulations in service provision
  • Documents and develops internal protocol and procedures that comply with CSD Works funder requirements
  • Supervises the organization of online weekly job clubs, focused on helping clients find and maintain successful long-term employment
  • Provides career coaching services in American Sign Language (ASL) focused on job placement outcomes with assigned clients as needed
  • Ensures all CSD Works client services follow a comprehensive Individual Work Plan (IWP) outlining the services and resources that each client will receive based upon gathered intake and assessment information
  • Develops and manages a system for client activity documentation in the case file management system
  • Develop articles / vlogs on relevant employment-related topics for the CSD Works Career Center website
  • Consults with clients requesting pre-employment and on-the-job support to ensure continued workplace success as needed
  • Organizes and supervises an online recruitment focused on helping business find and maintain successful long-term job placement
  • Provides assessments and interviews in American Sign Language (ASL) focused on job placement outcomes with assigned business clients as needed
  • Develops and manages a system for communication with business clients and the unique job posting requirements
  • Consults with business clients supporting accessible on-boarding and accommodations referrals to ensure continued workplace success of successful recruitment outcomes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation/Rehabilitation Counseling with certification in Forensic Rehabilitation Counseling, or a Juris Doctorate/LLM or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Two years of professional experience providing supervising staff and/or directing programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively using American Sign Language (Preferred)
  • Current credentials in job skills training, placement and support (Preferred)
