Planet Interactive is seeking a part-time, freelance Copy Editor┬áto support one of our client’s Creative Services department and contribute to their award-winning catalog creative teams. If you have experience working as a Copy Editor especially within retail, then we would like to hear from you!

Compensation: Generous hourly rate DOE

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures copy is consistent, accurate, and adheres to our client’s style standards.
  • Copyedits for usage, grammar, punctuation.
  • Communicates all edits and comments effectively to colleagues.
  • Reviews circulation comments from cross-functional teams and works with writers and Production Designers to executes changes.
  • Adheres to style guide.
  • Adheres to list of all registered and service-marked trade names.
  • Builds thorough knowledge of all client product lines, business-channel communication norms, and major legal and compliance guidelines.
  • Learns the demands of colleagues across Creative Dept. disciplines and proactively supports needs of writers.
  • Embeds as an effective and integral member of the Creative team & processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with concentration in English, journalism, communications, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage a high volume of work with poise and a considerable degree of independence.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, vocabulary and the ability to recognize when and why we bend the rules.
  • Stand-out communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Writing-curious.
