The Job

In this position, you will manage engagements, work virtually with our clients and team members via email, video conferencing, screen-sharing and Slack. This is a part-time position, 25 – 30 hours per week during business hours (Eastern Standard Time).

Responsibilities:

  • Train and coach a team of accountants working remotely
  • Manage client staffing needs by balancing workflow
  • Review staff work and provide appropriate segregation of duties
  • Prepare financial statement and kpi reports including budgeting and cash flow forecasting
  • Implement, document and maintain a strong system of control procedures
  • Identify and solve accounting and operational issues for clients
  • Onboard new clients including setting them up on Juna’s software applications which may include Sharefile, Hubdoc, Tsheets, QBO, Bill.com, Asana, Expensify, Float and others
  • Provide “clean-up” services to new clients who have managed to make a mess of their accounting records
  • Research new and existing accounting software solutions and keep up to date on the latest technologies
  • Identify opportunities to streamline Juna’s operations and find efficiencies

Qualifications:

  • Top notch verbal and written communication skills are a must (Tip: a well crafted cover letter will go a long way.)
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or business
  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing a team
  • CPA is preferred
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP and accrual based accounting
  • Experience with budgeting and cash forecasting
  • Experience in building, developing and mentoring a strong team
  • Ability and desire to manage multiple clients and responsibilities
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and Excel is a must
  • Experience with Bill.com, Expensify, Asana, Float and Hubdoc is a plus
