About the Role
Title: Senior Media Specialist, Developer Led Growth (Auth0)
Location: Washington United States
Job Description:
Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human
Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.
This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.
We are seeking a versatile, highly collaborative Senior Media Specialist to lead our end-to-end creative, video and media production. This is a unique "player-coach" role that requires a balance of high-level strategy and tactical execution. Sitting within our Developer Marketing team, you will act as both a "taste-maker" and consultant for internal teams, ensuring our content is visually stunning, on-brand, and resonates with a technical audience. And, you are also someone who loves to roll up your sleeves to create or revise assets when needed. Whether you are directing an external contractor, collaborating with internal stakeholders on relevant content, or jumping into a project yourself to build design templates or edit videos, you thrive on bridging the gap between big-picture vision and daily execution. Beyond creation, you will act as the architect of our creative operations—scouting new tools, building efficient workflows, and creating the scalable templates that empower self-service creation and support to our broader team.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Media Production: Oversee and manage the lifecycle of video projects, from initial concept and strategy through post-production and deployment.
- Creative Direction & Taste-Making: Act as the internal creative consultant, guiding the aesthetic direction for video, graphic design, and web/wireframe needs.
- AI Workflow Innovation: Proactively explore, adopt, and implement modern AI tools and workflows to streamline creative production and content scaling.
- Self-Service Support: Enable cross-functional teams by creating and managing "self-service" creative assets, such as image templates and tutorial video frameworks.
- Channel & Content Strategy: Support and optimize our YouTube channel and broader video strategy, ensuring content is engaging and high-performing.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Source, manage, and deliver clear feedback to external video editors and designers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Developer Advocates, Product, and Brand teams to build creative assets that translate complex technical concepts into compelling media.
- Hybrid Execution: Balance high-level delegation with hands-on creation; directly produce, edit, or design high-priority media assets when needed.
- Workflow Optimization: Design, document, and introduce new creative workflows and guidelines to iterate and improve our media creation processes for both video and static assets.
Problem Solving & Impact
- The Balancing Act: Successfully balance creative workloads with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet deadlines.
- Audience Nuance: Crack the code on creative for developers—knowing how to create content that is visually engaging and authentic, while steering clear of traditional "corporate fluff."
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a creative agency or corporate environment. Proven track record in roles such as Creative Director, Media Manager, Post-Production Manager, or Senior Media Specialist.
- Equivalent Experience (No Degree Required): 5–7 years of hands-on, practical industry experience demonstrating growth and a strong portfolio of work. (Degrees in Art Direction, Media Management, Design, or Marketing are welcome but not required).
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma (for wireframing and design assets), and Canva
- Collaboration & Remote Work: Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, and project management software.
- Modern Video Tooling: Experience with video recording tooling is a bonus but not required (e.g., Restream, Riverside, Loom).
- AI Tooling: Hands-on experience with or a strong desire to leverage AI tools like LLMs and generative AI creative software.
- Production Knowledge: Basic to intermediate hands-on experience with video production equipment (cameras, microphones, and lighting).
- Vendor Procurement: Experience vetting, hiring, and budgeting for external production agencies.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to seamlessly translate technical feedback from developers into actionable creative briefs for contractors.
- Adaptability: A fast-paced, remote-first mindset with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, pivot quickly, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
