As the NA Sr. Manager, Category Strategy - Personal Care, you'll deliver strategic thought leadership, insights, and solutions to accelerate omni growth for North America Enterprise. You will be the national shopper behavior & category expert for the Customer Development Organization and partner to the Retail Marketing Leads (Sr. BDM). This position will report to the Director of Category Management. You will be responsible for designing, facilitating, and implementing personal care/ home care/ oral care category strategies, developing processes and tools for field sales and retail customers, and influencing corporate strategy for key business areas.
**This position is based out of our New York, NY office (Park Avenue) where you are expected to work in-office 4x week (Monday - Thursday).**
Responsibilities:
- Leverage insights and analytics to articulate the category, segment and occasion trends will be important. Similarly, strategically plan for new, existing and exciting assortment will be necessary. You will enable the broader strategy with category partners and in partnership with customer teams.
- Have a track record of providing customer specific recommendations based on your ability to synthesize customer shopper data, insights & point of sale data.
- Represent our Customer and Field Sales teams and serve as their voice to several headquarter functions. You will ensure that the voice of our Retailers / Sales teams is represented within our strategies & plans. You will also be the voice of the category team to the field team to help clarify and build confidence in the strategic plans.
- Drive a strong alignment and partnership with the sales team will be key to your success. It is important to be inclusive of both the account managers and the execution leads to identify needs, timing, distribution, execution & support plans, etc. You will work on articulating, producing, and selling the annual category strategy.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to interpret, integrate and communicate shopper behavior, insights & POS data. You can successfully tell fact-based stories to drive Colgate & category solutions.
- Wwork cross-functionally across the Colgate Palmolive organization. You will have significant partnership needs across our entire Commercial Organization: Insights and Analytics, Marketing, Supply Chain, Research & Development, and Sales.
- Lead by influencing the agenda through collaboration, negotiation and thought leadership. It is critical for you to be able to lead a group of diverse functions and ensure they are all working towards progressive initiatives.
- Seek opportunities to improve and implement creative solutions. You dig into the reason behind the numbers, are able to look at the results and find out the reasons for what is driving those results and guide the team accordingly.
- Demonstrate an ability to think beyond single-channel execution, with a strong understanding of how we translate category strategy across both physical and digital enviroments
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 8+ years of Consumer, Shopper Insights, Shopper Behavior and/or Category Management experience
- Experience working with customer Shopper Behavior Data (Luminate,Dunhumby, ExtraCare, 1010, etc.)
- Experience working with Household Panel data (Numerator, Nielsen Panel, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with a syndicated service (Nielsen, IRI) account required
- Experience working in consumer product goods
- Experience working on cross-functional teams
- Experience working in omnichannel or eCom environments, with the ability to translate category strategies across physical and digital touchpoints, including exposure to digital shelf, online assortment and cross-channel execution
- Microsoft Office or Google Suite proficiency (i.e, Sheets, Slides, Docs)
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $124,000.00 - $174,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
