About the Role

This role supports the evolution of underwriting controls and governance across Consumer Portfolio. You will drive a program of work focused on uplift, maturity, and future-ready underwriting practices. Working across the insurance value chain, you will partner with stakeholders to strengthen controls and support a transformation journey that enhances risk management and operational outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Drive a structured program of work to uplift underwriting controls, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and governance frameworks.
• Partner with underwriting, risk, claims and distribution teams to embed consistent, effective controls across the value chain.
• Lead control reviews and testing programs, identifying gaps and delivering improvements that strengthen risk management outcomes.
• Monitor incidents and emerging risks, using insights to enhance processes and introduce preventative and automated controls.
• Support governance reporting and contribute to clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
• Facilitate change initiatives that enable the transition of controls into underwriting teams over time.

What You'll Bring

• Experience across insurance, with exposure to underwriting, controls, or governance disciplines.
• Proven ability to deliver programs of work, including planning, execution, and stakeholder alignment across complex environments.
• Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess risks, challenge existing processes, and recommend practical improvements.
• Ability to build relationships across underwriting, risk, claims and broader business teams to deliver shared outcomes.
• Experience in control testing, incident management, or governance frameworks, and applying these to real business scenarios.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear and actionable insights.
