Financial Resource Analyst (Program Analyst 1)

The Oregon State Hospital (OSH) is seeking a Financial Resource Analyst to maximize revenue related to the cost of hospital care. This includes obtaining complete and accurate financial information for patients admitted to the state psychiatric hospitals; establishing charges for cost of care based on available third-party resources and the patient's ability to pay; and pursuing payment of patient responsibility for the cost of care. PFS provides centralized billing and collection services which enables the department to receive revenue in support of business operations at Oregon State Hospitals. PFS also provides coordinated and specialized services for revenue collection through its billing, revenue services, and collection units.
The Oregon State Hospital provides patient-centered, psychiatric treatment for adults from throughout the state who need hospital-level care. Our primary goal is to help people recover from their illness and return to the community. Our services include psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as community outreach and peer support. Watch "Welcome to the Oregon State Hospital" video here.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
These qualifications must be visible in your application for you to be considered for this position.
A bachelor's degree in business, public administration, the behavioral or social sciences, or a degree related to healthcare and/or insurance benefits administration.
OR
Any combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical-level experience related to healthcare and/or insurance benefits administration.

Ability to understand complex rules and regulations and apply them to a broad range of individual cases.

Experience exercising a great deal of tact and patience to effectively work with patients, their representatives, and direct care and other hospital staff, and not to interfere with the priorities of treatment.

Proficient computer and typing skills.

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%. Review the Classification and Compensation page for more details on the classification.
